About The Position

A-Team Solutions LLC is seeking Phlebotomist for a Full time position at the VA Healthcare system in San Francisco, CA. Duties and Responsibilities : Computer knowledge is required as the contractors will be trained to perform order look up and release of orders in order to generate blood collection labels for each collection tube. Verify patient identified by confirming two (2) patient identifiers, per VA policy (patient name, date of birth and/or social security number) prior to accepting or collecting specimens for processing or testing performing. Differences in patient identification will be reconciled and corrected before drawing blood or accepting patient samples. Perform venipuncture by following published Laboratory procedures. Each phlebotomist is expected to perform 25-50 venipunctures per day. Collect adequate and properly labeled specimens, conforming to the correct order of draw with the different collection tubes. Perform waived and/or non-waived testing as determined by the needs of the Laboratory Supervisor for the location. Adequate training and assessments will be provided to the contract staff prior to the individual performing the testing. Process specimens for testing and/or shipment to another laboratory for testing. Make contacts with patients, relatives, staff members, and coworkers in a concerned, compassionate and helpful manner. Promote a harmonious and cooperative working environment in their interaction with co-workers and supervisors.

Requirements

  • Certification: Contract personnel must hold and maintain a current certificate by the State of California as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1).
  • Valid BLS through American Heart Association
  • Must be authorized to work in U.S.
