About The Position

The Phlebotomist position involves performing phlebotomy and related specimen collection on inpatients and outpatients across all age groups for a variety of lab tests. The role requires obtaining blood specimens through venipuncture and capillary methods, as well as urine specimens, which are essential for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The phlebotomist will also provide specimen collection information and test preparation guidance to nursing staff, patients, and their families as appropriate.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program that includes phlebotomy.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in phlebotomy.

Nice To Haves

• ASCP or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtains blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods.
• Collects urine specimens from all age groups for laboratory tests and procedures.
• Provides specimen collection information and test preparation information to nursing, patients, and family members.
