About The Position
The position involves collecting specimens for diagnostic testing, which includes blood, throat, nasopharyngeal, and TB testing. Key accountabilities include performing appropriate patient and specimen identification, maintaining aseptic technique during specimen collection, and using the correct equipment. The role also involves performing clerical activities such as logging in specimens, quick registration, and ordering labs, as well as basic processing of specimens such as centrifuging and transferring as directed to support diagnostic testing. The position may serve inpatient and/or outpatient areas, and other duties may be assigned as needed.
