About The Position

The Phlebotomist I is responsible for accurately collecting patient specimens for diagnostic testing in a professional medical environment. Requirements

  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS)/RQI for healthcare providers.
  • Ability to take on-call shifts as needed.
  • Flexibility to work in other facilities as required.
  • Adherence to personal protective requirements in various settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months of phlebotomy experience or approved phlebotomy training.
  • High School diploma or equivalent in compliance with CLIA regulations.
  • Certificate of completion from a phlebotomy school or program.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing.
  • Perform specimen collection using techniques such as venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections.
  • Communicate procedures and instructions with patients and family members.
  • Adhere to laboratory compliance and safety regulations.
  • Participate in CODE response teams and training new staff.
  • Process specimens and participate in special projects as required.
