About The Position

The Phlebotomist at Kedplasma is responsible for performing venipuncture on donors for plasmapheresis, ensuring the safety and care of donors during the process. This role operates under the direction of the Center Manager and adheres to regulatory guidelines, including EU Guidance on Good Manufacturing Practice and FDA cGMP 21CFR. The position offers opportunities for cross-training and advancement within a supportive work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomist Certification preferred (required in California).
  • Minimum of one-year Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Minimum 24 months experience for Phlebotomist II required.

Responsibilities

  • Self-introduction to donors prior to phlebotomy and understanding their health requirements.
  • Performing Haemonetics Autopheresis setup and programming, including understanding alarm signals during operation.
  • Conducting phlebotomy procedures in accordance with SOPs, including arm preparations and collection volumes.
  • Monitoring the safety and care of the donor during the plasmapheresis process.
  • Maintaining alertness for donor reactions and assisting with reactions as needed.
  • Performing test sample collection and identification, including NAT testing protocols.
  • Maintaining equipment calibration, standardization, and cleaning schedules according to SOPs.
  • Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management or supervisor.
  • Ensuring the donor floor is properly stocked with supplies and soft goods.
  • Providing high levels of customer service and striving to meet production goals.
  • Responding promptly and competently to donor complaints, reactions, or deferrals.
  • Ensuring accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system and incidents during the pheresis process.
  • Facilitating donor flow throughout the plasma collection center to minimize wait time.
  • Following all SOPs and regulatory policies and procedures, including the employee handbook.
  • Remaining current on SOP changes and following all Health Safety & Environmental and OSHA policies.
  • Explaining plasma collection center policies and educating new donors on the donation process and related information.
  • Preparing the plasma collection center for audits by maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.
  • Maintaining data integrity and confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and plasma collection center information.
