About The Position

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking for an individual to join our team as a Phlebotomist Team Leader in New Port Richey, FL. This position is responsible for ensuring the donor center and/or bloodmobile operates safely, efficiently, and effectively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • CPR Certification
  • Valid driver’s license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver’s eligibility requirements
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Knowledgeable in a variety of computer software applications
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and volume and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • One year of donor collections experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Oversee donor collection functions
  • Ensure all collections operations comply with LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
  • Oversee, direct and monitor all activities of staff
  • Properly complete and account for all paperwork, test tubes and blood associated with Donor Collections
  • Ensure quality control on all blood collection equipment is performed and records are maintained appropriately
  • Maintain stock supply in donor room
  • Display positive customer service skills to both internal and external customers
