About The Position

Aspirus Inc has partnered with North Central Technical College (NTC) in Wausau, WI to offer those interested in Phlebotomy the opportunity to learn the skill! The Phlebotomy Program offers a unique opportunity to develop skills while entertaining an early interest in the field of laboratory sciences. Although this program is designed for high school juniors and seniors who will not only receive Phlebotomy training but also gain practical experience at their Youth Apprenticeship worksite, those no longer in school but still interested in Phlebotomy are encouraged to apply and may be considered. In-person classes at NTC in Wausau will be on Tuesday and Thursdays starting January 26, 2026. Must be able to attend one of two class times: 12pm to 230pm, or 4pm to 6pm. Required clinical lab (after classroom course) will be scheduled between the student and site manager.

Requirements

  • High school juniors and seniors from participating North Central Wisconsin School-to-Career Partnership schools are eligible.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must pass a background and reference check.

Responsibilities

  • Attend in-person classes at NTC in Wausau on designated days and times.
  • Complete a minimum of 450 hours of work experience.
  • Participate in related high school or college classes to enhance worksite experiences.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen, background and reference check.
