This Phlebotomist Specimen Processor role involves performing various laboratory functions to support patient care, including conducting phlebotomy procedures, processing and receiving specimens, accessioning and distributing specimens, and performing and resulting specific test procedures. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
None (Work Experience)
Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
Knowledge of venipuncture procedures
Strong interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

Completion of phlebotomy course
Current license or trainee license in the state of practice

Responsibilities

Perform various laboratory functions to support the department in patient care
Conduct phlebotomy procedures
Process and receive specimens
Accession specimens
Distribute specimens
Perform and result specific test procedures
Perform clinical assignments
Support departmental goals and objectives
Resolve problems
Exhibit versatility and cooperation
Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of service or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style
Perform other related duties as required
Remain knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensure compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards
Maintain and comply with the company's Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including the immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct; patient/employee safety, patient privacy, and/or other compliance-related concerns
