About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant to perform routine technical and clerical functions. The role includes performing venipuncture, specimen receipt, and distribution of laboratory specimens; may perform CLIA waived laboratory tests. The Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant will assist pathologists as needed, prepare solutions, label tubes and specimen containers, collect specimens, and perform simple tests under supervision. The position requires obtaining blood specimens for all age groups serviced and managing laboratory equipment safely and correctly. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of new testing methods, products, instrumentation, and remain informed on all current technologies. The role also involves following standard precautions at all times and managing exposure to chemical, radiation, and infectious hazards.

Requirements

• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
• Ability to perform venipuncture and specimen collection.
