About The Position

Seeking a PRN Phlebotomist to join our dynamic team! The Phlebotomist is the front-line representative of Laboratory Services. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for blood sample collection by venipuncture, heel stick, and finger stick. Properly identifying patients prior to performing blood collection and following Laboratory protocols and procedures for blood collection are essential. The role includes entering collection and other information into the Laboratory Information System, ensuring that collected specimens are delivered to the appropriate Laboratory department, maintaining properly stocked supplies on the phlebotomy cart or tray and supply room, operating and performing patient testing on Point-of-Care Laboratory Instruments, assisting with receiving specimens from the Tube System and distributing specimens to the correct department, training new-hire phlebotomists, and providing good customer service skills. Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor or Laboratory Director.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Certification in phlebotomy preferred.
  • BLS REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal training course in phlebotomy from an accredited school preferred.
