Requirements

• Completion of an approved college-based phlebotomy certification program.
• Passed the certification test by an approved organization (AMT, ASCP, or ASPT).
• Minimum of two letters of recommendation from former employers, including one from a medical technologist or laboratory technician.
• 40 hours of classroom training and 100 hours of clinical training completed.
• 100 successful venipunctures (including skin punctures).
• 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Active BLS certification.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens.
