About The Position

The Site Manager for this position is Jennie Colson, and the specialty is Primary Care-Adult along with a variety of other specialties. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and the main location is Westgate 1 - Cool Springs. This is a full-time position that requires successful completion of a Phlebotomy training program, with certification preferred. The role involves performing proper specimen collection, primarily blood specimens, and includes responsibilities for sample processing, reference sample processing, and inventory management of drawing station supplies. Clerical duties may also be performed as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy Training (Diploma or Certificate) and/or successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or equivalent training and experience.
• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in Phlebotomy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the ability to accurately and precisely follow established office and laboratory procedures.
• Organizes work to minimize patient waiting time for specimen drawing.
• Performs blood collection duties in a timely manner to ensure availability of test results.
• Gives appropriate instructions to patients and performs other specimen collections as requested by physicians.
• Labels all patient specimens accurately with required information.
• Delivers and processes specimens in a timely manner.
• Collects blood samples in appropriate tubes.
• Assists nursing personnel in specimen collection if needed.
• Receives phone calls from nurses, doctors, and reference laboratories.
• Inventories and orders supplies.
• Maintains a positive image of the clinic while dealing with the public.
• Respects patient confidentiality and uses discretion in discussing patient results.
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks appropriately.
• Performs work within established laboratory safety and infection control policies.
