About The Position

The position of Phlebotomist – Inpatient at Elmhurst Hospital involves preparing, collecting, logging, and labeling specimens for testing under general supervision. The role requires performing pre-analytical processing and ordering of specimens arriving in the lab, registering patient information, and ordering laboratory tests in the computer system. Additionally, the phlebotomist will arrange specimens for further processing by laboratory staff. This is a part-time position with an FTE of 0.5, requiring approximately 20 hours per week, with specific hours from 4am to 8am Monday through Friday, and 5am to 1:30pm every other weekend and holiday rotations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or higher.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program including a minimum of 100 clinical training hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, collect, log, and label specimens for testing.
• Perform pre-analytical processing and ordering of specimens arriving in the lab.
• Register patient information and order laboratory tests in the computer system.
