About The Position

Saint Mary's Hospital Lab in Waterbury, CT is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist. In this role, you will be responsible for obtaining inpatient blood specimens, processing laboratory specimens for clinical analysis, and providing patient information to the appropriate caregiver. Your work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a blood draw station, ambulatory care or acute care setting
• Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Properly identifies patient per policy and performs venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods
• Labels all specimens following laboratory policy
• Receives/cancels/orders and processes laboratory/microbiology specimens
