About The Position

The Phlebotomist III Site Lead represents the company to patients, drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing while adhering to established practices and procedures. This role involves creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures, and skillfully, safely, and accurately drawing blood specimens. The Site Lead directs daily activities at a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) and is responsible for leading more than one Patient Service Representative (PSR) on site. They must ensure that daily activities are completed accurately and on time and can provide coverage at multiple locations for various roles. The position requires demonstrating Quest Leadership Behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information. Successful candidates may be assigned to work and direct daily activity in a doctor's office, a patient service center, a house call environment, or long-term care. The Site Lead is expected to step in for a PSR II, act as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees, provide effective onboarding services, and serve as a point of contact for on-site staff, providing input to the group lead or supervisor. This role may also involve working with high complexity and/or volume practices, requiring outstanding phlebotomy skills and advanced customer-facing abilities, including verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and collaboration with various functions such as Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT connectivity, Billing, and Logistics, especially for specialty or complex test orders. The Phlebotomist III Site Lead must be capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Requirements

  • Outstanding phlebotomy skills (especially for high complexity and/or volume practices)
  • Higher level of customer-facing skills including verbal and written communications, problem-solving, and collaboration with multiple functions (Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT connectivity, Billing, and Logistics)
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
  • Must be able to step in for a PSR II and lead one or more PSR on site

Responsibilities

  • Draw quality blood samples from patients
  • Prepare specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures
  • Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence with patients
  • Explain procedures to patients
  • Draw blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner
  • Direct daily activity at a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP)
  • Lead more than one PSR on site
  • Provide coverage at multiple locations for multiple roles
  • Ensure that daily activities of the Patient Service Center/Mobile/Long Term Care/In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and on time
  • Demonstrate Quest Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information
  • Step in for a PSR II and lead one or more PSR on site
  • Act as a coach, mentor, instructor, resource advisor for new employees
  • Provide effective onboarding services to new clients
  • Act as point of contact to staff on-site
  • Provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor
  • Work with customers who have a high complexity and/or volume practice with a specialized focus requiring outstanding phlebotomy skills
  • Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
