About The Position

The Phlebotomist III Site Lead represents the face of Quest Diagnostics to patients, drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. This role involves direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens skillfully and safely. The Site Lead directs daily activities at a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) and leads multiple Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) on site. Responsibilities include ensuring daily activities are completed accurately and on time, acting as a coach and mentor for new employees, and providing effective onboarding services. The Site Lead may also work with customers who have high complexity and/or volume practices, requiring outstanding phlebotomy and customer-facing skills. The position requires handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Requirements

  • Five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Flexible availability for staffing needs, including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic training.
  • Minimum 3 years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office (IOP) environment.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

  • Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
  • Direct daily activity at a Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy.
  • Lead and mentor multiple PSRs on site.
  • Ensure daily activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Act as a coach, mentor, and resource advisor for new employees.
  • Provide effective onboarding services to new clients.
  • Communicate professionally with clients to resolve issues.
  • Perform Point of Care (POC) testing as needed.
  • Maintain phlebotomy logs and assist with inventory counts.
  • Participate in special projects and teams.
