Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
  • Administer oral solutions as per established training.
  • Research test/client information and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems.
  • Accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
  • Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test orders.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory management, sanitizing, filing, and answering phones.
  • Comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist with the compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
  • Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, including maintenance and temperature logs.
  • Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
