Responsible for obtaining venous, arterial, and capillary blood samples from patients and transporting the samples to the laboratory. This role requires the ability to perform venipunctures and other blood collection procedures. The individual should have availability, willingness, and experience in performing special procedures such as assisting physicians in special procedures, special nursery procedures, or preparation of reference lab samples. The position involves possible exposure to contagious disease and continuous exposure to blood, patient specimens, and needles. The Phlebotomist II works under the direct supervision of the Phlebotomy Shift Supervisor or Manager for the assigned shift.
