About The Position

The Phlebotomist II position in Fresno, CA, is a full-time role requiring a state phlebotomy license. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with rotational weekends, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The position involves collecting specimens according to established procedures, administering oral solutions, and processing specimens for transport. Candidates must have strong computer skills for data entry and be able to navigate lab technology systems. The role also includes non-patient facing duties such as inventory management and compliance with departmental policies.

Requirements

  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
  • Administer oral solutions according to established training.
  • Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems.
  • Accurately enter data and billing information, and collect payments when required.
  • Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory management, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
  • Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, including maintenance and temperature logs.
  • Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
