About The Position

The Phlebotomist II position in Fresno, CA, is a full-time role requiring a state phlebotomy license. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with rotational weekends, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The position involves collecting specimens according to established procedures, administering oral solutions, and processing specimens for transport. The role also includes non-patient facing duties such as inventory management and compliance with departmental policies.

Requirements

• Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems.
• Accurately enter data and billing information, and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory management, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, including maintenance and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
