About The Position

The Phlebotomist II position in Carlisle, PA is a full-time role that operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with rotational weekends. The role involves collecting specimens according to established procedures, administering oral solutions, and processing specimens. The position requires effective communication and data entry skills, as well as compliance with departmental policies and protocols. Requirements

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
