Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  • Keyboard/data entry experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English

Nice To Haves

  • Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic training)
  • Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
  • Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment

Responsibilities

  • Cover phlebotomist duties within an assigned territory, including Patient Service Centers, doctor’s offices, or as business needs dictate
  • Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing
  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams
  • Enter billing information and collect payment when required
  • Coach, mentor, instruct, and serve as a resource advisor for new employees
  • Act as the point of contact for staff on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor
  • Travel to additional doctor’s office or Patient Service Center sites when needed
