  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
  • Administer oral solutions as per established training.
  • Research test/client information and confirm all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems.
  • Navigate a computer and accurately enter data as required for the role.
  • Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information, collecting payments when necessary.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, and preparing for transport as required by test orders.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory management, sanitizing, filing, and answering phones.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.
  • Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, including maintenance and temperature logs.
  • Complete online and in-person training courses in a timely manner.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols.
