About The Position

This position is ECB status – requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings. The role involves performing venipunctures, arterial punctures, and capillary sampling to obtain blood samples for laboratory testing. The employee will enter orders for testing and accession specimens in the computer system.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 0 - 6 months related experience inclusive of on the job or classroom training in phlebotomy.
• Basic PC Skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to draw blood specimens.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient specimens competently and accurately.
• Supports the general operation of the Laboratory.
• Documents collection and processes specimens efficiently.
• Performs phlebotomy collections in a timely manner.
