About The Position

This position contributes to the mission of the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and the goals of the department by obtaining and/or assisting in the processing of laboratory specimens to facilitate the production of quality results. The job involves performing LIS / computer operations and clerical functions as needed. Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills are required. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Phlebotomy certificate program preferred.
• At least 3 months of active phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Possess current skills in required areas for effective orientation.
• Recent graduates of phlebotomy certificate programs may be considered in lieu of experience.
• No license is required; Phlebotomy Certification from a phlebotomy program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and process laboratory specimens.
• Perform LIS / computer operations and clerical functions as needed.
• Utilize communication and interpersonal skills effectively.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills.
• Provide customer service as required.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
