The Collections Specialist (Phlebotomist) position supports the Blood Center by collecting blood donations (blood and blood products) safely from volunteer donors in a compassionate and professional manner. The anticipated salary starts at $24.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience. Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to effectively interact with diverse people and communicate (verbal, written, and listening) fluently in English
  • Proficient with basic computer skills and office tools, such as Microsoft Office, and ability to use software relevant to the position
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions, seeking guidance as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Assistant Certification or Phlebotomy Certification is strongly preferred.
  • 6 months' experience in a Blood Center or other Healthcare environment is strongly preferred .
  • 1 years' experience in customer service is strongly preferred .

Responsibilities

  • Utilize job experience and knowledge to provide exceptional donor experiences.
  • Ability to utilize all computer systems to process donors through their donor process (screening and whole blood phlebotomy, and automated collections when appropriate).
  • Take personal responsibility for donor safety, complying with all Blood Center standard procedures and other regulatory standards.
  • Set-up all supplies and equipment, completion of daily QC, and assure all equipment and supplies are available before the collection event.
