About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team in Los Alamitos, CA to include, but not limited to South LA and Orange County area
Work Schedule: Able to cover hours that vary Monday - Friday 4:45 am – 6:00 pm; additional days/hours as needed, including some Saturdays
Flex -This is a casual/per diem position, hours will be as needed. Start and end times may vary between
4:45 am- 6:00pm, Monday – Friday, with rotating weekends.

As a Float Phlebotomist, you will have the opportunity to quickly gain a vast amount of experience. QUARTERLY INCENTIVE BONUS PROGRAM. Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics
Pay Range: $21.00-$33.00
Float Incentive: Additional $1.50/hr plus mileage reimbursement
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• California state issued Phlebotomy license (CPT)
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Ability to work in fast paced / high volume work environments
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

• 1 year or more of experience as phlebotomist
• Current or Prior experience at LabCorp

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
