About The Position

The position involves verifying request and patient information, drawing blood from adult, pediatric, and/or infant patients, and processing specimens according to established procedures and techniques. The role requires adherence to in-process quality control procedures and maintaining related records. Additionally, the individual must remain aware of the patient's emotional and physiological condition and report any abnormal conditions to the appropriate personnel. Other related duties may be required as necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Minimum of one (1) year Phlebotomy experience OR Phlebotomy/Medical Assistant education program, required.

Nice To Haves

• Certified in Phlebotomy from a National Organization, preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory computer, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies request, patient and specimen information.
• Draws blood from adult, pediatric and/or infant patients and processes specimens following established procedures and techniques.
• Follows in-process quality control procedures. Maintains related records.
• Remains aware of patient emotional/physiological condition and reports abnormal conditions to the proper people.
• Performs related duties, as required.
