About The Position

As a Phlebotomist, you will work in a dynamic healthcare environment, utilizing state-of-the-art technology alongside dedicated colleagues who share a passion for patient care. This role involves performing various procedures including venipuncture and capillary puncture on patients of all ages, collecting urine specimens, and conducting EKG and spirometry tests. You will also play a vital role in training new personnel and ensuring that laboratory professionalism is maintained throughout your interactions. In this position, you will be responsible for blood collection from both adult and pediatric patients using various techniques, ensuring that specimens are correctly identified and labeled. You will instruct patients on how to collect urine and stool samples, enter accessioning data into the computer system, and prepare specimens for send-out testing. Additionally, you will manage inventory supplies and prepare phlebotomy stations to facilitate effective blood collection. Your role will also include attending required meetings and enhancing your professional growth through in-service meetings and educational programs. The Phlebotomist will maintain patient confidentiality and perform related duties as required, including surgical scheduling and providing quality customer service to patients and visitors. You will need to communicate effectively with co-workers, management staff, and physicians, ensuring that surgical instructions are clear and that patients understand their financial responsibilities. This position requires a commitment to professionalism in all interactions, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting the overall goals of the healthcare team.
