Phlebotomist (Cla)
About The Position
Under general supervision of the Lab Manager, the technician assumes the responsibility for performing phlebotomy appropriately and efficiently, under the philosophy, policies and procedures established by the hospital and the laboratory department. To assure that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times, the technician should be able to demonstrate skill and accuracy in obtaining specimens for all age groups serviced; maintain inter and intra departmental communications via telephone, fax, and reception desk; maintain effective and cooperative relationships with other personnel throughout the hospital; observe safety, infection control, and risk management policies and procedures; participate in continuing education programs and related professional activities; perform any duties and functions necessary to the efficient and quality operation of the department; controls supply usage; and demonstrates computer skills. Additionally, the lab assistant is to assist in the operation and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment and perform other duties as directed by the CLS on duty.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current CPT License for State of California.
- 1-2 years Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Acute care setting experience preferred
- Certain level of retention.
- Command of English language
- Computer skills
- Phlebotomy
- Operate minimal level analyzers.
