About The Position
The Phlebotomist position at Merit Health Wesley involves performing venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks to obtain blood samples for testing purposes. The role requires proper identification of patients and adherence to procedures for specimen collection. The phlebotomist is responsible for entering all relevant information into the laboratory computer system, including the time drawn, time received, and the appropriate phlebotomy code. Additionally, the position includes collecting chain of custody urine drug screens for various cases and picking up samples from nursing units as required. Other related functions may be assigned by the Phlebotomy Supervisor.
