About The Position

Franciscan Health Indianapolis is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. This position is based at 8111 S. Emerson Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46237, and involves a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, specifically from 3:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The role includes a weekend and/or holiday rotation. As part of one of the largest integrated laboratory networks serving hospitals in the Midwest, you will play a crucial role in advancing health, wellness, and continuity of care in the communities we serve.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training
• Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record

Responsibilities

• Collection of blood specimens
• Performing laboratory office duties
• Processing laboratory specimens
• Registering patients and entering data into the computer system
• Specimen accessioning
• Answering telephone calls and processing paperwork
• Preparation of specimens for testing or sending to laboratories
• Handling blood, body fluid, and urine specimens according to established procedures
• Performing limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director
• Acting as a driver and participating in the on-call rotation as required
