About The Position

Ascension Saint Alexius is seeking a Phlebotomist for a part-time position in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The role involves working 20 hours per week, specifically from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM, five days a week, with a rotation that may include weekends and holidays. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training
• Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record

Responsibilities

• Collection of blood specimens
• Performing laboratory office duties
• Processing laboratory specimens
• Registering patients and entering data into the computer system
• Specimen accessioning
• Answering telephone calls and processing paperwork
• Preparation of specimens for testing or sending to laboratories
• Handling blood, body fluid, and urine specimens according to established procedures
• Performing limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director
• Acting as a driver and participating in the on-call rotation if required
