About The Position

POSITION: A part-time, instructional academic staff position (0.8) is available in the Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies with an emphasis in either ethical theory or philosophy of science for the 2026‑2027 academic year beginning August 17, 2026. The official title is Lecturer. This is a one-year appointment. QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in philosophy from a regionally accredited institution preferred (ABD or M.A. considered). AOS: Open AOC: Philosophy of Science, Ethical Theory, and Symbolic Logic. The following will be considered assets: ability to teach introductory courses in philosophy and in PPE; evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level. DUTIES: Teach the equivalent of 12 credits each semester as assigned. THE UNIT: The Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies offers two majors in (Philosophy and PPE), a minor in Religious Studies, and various certificates. We currently have six staff members. Responsibilities

  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance

  • Teach the equivalent of 12 credits each semester as assigned.
