About The Position

The Philanthropy Officer III will manage and be responsible for driving the overall performance of a portfolio of annual giving prospects for the Silicon Valley Market Area. Collaborate with the local philanthropy team, physicians, senior leaders and philanthropy leadership to identify, cultivate, steward and solicit donors and prospects with a focus on donor retention and acquisition. Also manage a portfolio of physician philanthropy partners with the goal of educating physician partners, to engage and support philanthropy at Sutter Health. Expected to achieve revenue and cost of funds goals through prudent budget management and active revenue-based strategies to fully engage the community in supporting the mission of Sutter Health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of recent relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize in a complex and fast-moving environment.
  • Proven track record of developing significant private philanthropic support.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local service area and its philanthropic practices.
  • Experience implementing multi-year cultivation strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
