About The Position

The Philanthropy Coordinator supports Harvest Hope Food Bank's Philanthropy team by managing and stewarding a portfolio of corporate, business, and community donors and prospects. This role functions alongside the Philanthropy Manager of Major Gifts and focuses on relationship-based fundraising, stewardship, and engagement activities, while operating with more modest portfolio size and revenue expectations. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Coordinator contributes to annual fundraising goals through cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and coordination of donor relationships, with an emphasis on consistency, responsiveness, and donor experience. This full-time position at our Midlands (Columbia) Branch is primarily set in an office environment. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 4:00 pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week. Occasionally, the role requires responding to organizational needs outside of normal working hours.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in fundraising, sales, account management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship management or solicitation.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to clearly articulate Harvest Hope Food Bank's mission.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

  • Manages an assigned portfolio of corporate, business, and community donors and prospects.
  • Develops and executes engagement and solicitation plans for each assigned donor, based on giving history and potential.
  • Supports solicitation of operating gifts, sponsorships, food and fund drives, and cause-related marketing opportunities.
  • Executes relationship plans to retain and upgrade donors over time.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for assigned donors, coordinating internally as needed.
  • Assists with securing new and renewed funding from corporate and business partners.
  • Supports stewardship efforts including donor recognition, acknowledgments, presentations, and site visits.
  • Attends donor meetings, check presentations, and community engagements as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with Marketing and Communications staff to ensure appropriate donor recognition.
  • Researches and identifies new corporate, business, and community prospects.
  • Assists in qualifying prospects and preparing background materials.
  • Maintains accurate donor records, contact reports, and engagement notes in the donor database.
  • Works closely with Major Gift Officers and Philanthropy staff to ensure coordinated donor engagement.
  • Coordinates with branch staff to support donor relationships and local engagement opportunities.
  • Supports food drives, fund drives, volunteer engagement, and special events as assigned.
  • Performs other philanthropy-related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding donor information and organizational data.
