About The Position

As a Phenotyping Specialist at Corteva Agriscience, you will play a crucial role in supporting various activities at the Johnston Multicrop/Multifunctional Research Center. This position involves being part of the Phenotyping functional team and contributing to the overall success of multicrop and multifunctional responsibilities, including managing logistics, operating research equipment, and collaborating with team members to meet agronomic deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in agriculture or scientific field preferred.
  • Experience in Agronomy, Biology, Plant Breeding, or a scientific-related field preferred.
  • Competency with standard Microsoft Office programs and capacity to learn new technologies and software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to initiate projects, improvements, decisions, and problem solving.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to excellent safety and risk management practices.

  • Experience with research agricultural equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as a multicrop/multifunction team member for all SPD, Biotech, and other functional accountability.
  • Operate research equipment for planting and harvest.
  • Manage all Seed Applied Technology (SAT) logistics to the Phenotyping team, Seed Processing Team, Agronomy Team, and Seed Applied Technology leadership.
  • Scout fields, focusing on agronomy pests and diseases.
  • Work with team members in driving regional scouting teams.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members/stakeholders to understand agronomic deadlines and other functional groups' deadlines.
  • Support other activities at the site and assist with assigned research projects.
  • Assist with research center projects and research seed production activities, including seed preparation for planting and seed sampling.
  • Manage and direct the work of temporary and seasonal employees.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.
