About The Position

Summary: Operates Tester 2 and 3 performing basic helium leak detection and pressure decay testing in accordance to Kelvion Standards, ASME, PED & UL. Inspects units after testing for bulging and performs inspection of units to GEA quality standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Primary Responsibilities: Performs helium Leak detection and pressure tests Hydrostatic Testing Places hardware where and when needed. Records data on work orders & transactions in SAP. Moves materials from one Work Center to another Work Center. Perform SAP transactions real time as parts are being moved between Testing and Warehouse areas. Pack units in accordance with packing procedures. Print and apply appropriate labeling for all units. Assures quality standards are met and maintained. Maintains department housekeeping and safety standards. Understands and operates by established safety procedures. Performance Standards: Test in accordance with GEA, ASME, PED and UL standards. Maintain quality standards of <1% pick errors. Works in accordance to work instructions. Correctly identifies and segregates non-compliant product. Performs required duties in compliance with safety standards. Works accident free. Creates and submits cost reduction ideas. Autonomy/Accountability: Accountable for compliant product quality of all units processed as good; for the accuracy of count; for the safe working conditions of their work area and for accuracy of SAP data input.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic understanding of helium leak detection.
  • Operation of helium leak detectors.
  • Understand safety procedures for usage of gas bottles.
  • Basic computer skills, including SAP.
  • Ability to drive sit-down counter-balance forklift and/or hand jack equipment
  • Ability to comprehend quality work instructions, correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Basic shop math.
  • Math skills associated with measurement and counting.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Identify unusual situations.
