About The Position

Join our innovative team in Milpitas, United States, for an exciting Summer 2026 internship opportunity in Advanced Memory Technology Group. As an intern, you'll have the chance to apply machine learning, deep learning, and Large Language Models (LLMs) for semiconductor process technology development.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a PhD degree majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline with understanding of Semiconductor Fabrication.
  • Strong foundation in machine learning and statistical modeling
  • Hands-on experience with Python and at least one ML framework: PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
  • Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) , such as: Model fine-tuning (full or parameter-efficient methods) Prompt engineering Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Familiarity with data handling and analysis libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-driven engineering environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate AI/ML models to analyze semiconductor process, device, and metrology data
  • Apply LLMs for: Knowledge extraction from process logs, experiment reports, and technical documentation Assisting with root-cause analysis and hypothesis generation Automating data interpretation and reporting workflows
  • Design end-to-end ML pipelines , including data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, validation, and deployment
  • Explore advanced learning techniques such as: Physics-informed machine learning Bayesian optimization for process tuning Reinforcement learning for process control
  • Collaborate with domain experts to translate semiconductor process challenges into tractable AI problems
  • Present findings through technical reports, presentations, and (where applicable) internal publications or patents
