AMD is looking for a software engineering intern to join our Software Architecture team and contribute to forward-looking machine learning research. Under guidance of senior machine learning researchers, you will work on evaluating and prototyping cutting-edge solutions to implicit neural representations, and distributed training and inference techniques on next-gen AMD accelerators. You will be encouraged to explore emerging techniques and supported in implementing proof-of-concepts. As a member of the Software Architecture team, you will be part of a group whose mandate is to research, prototype, and architect solutions for GPU compute & graphics and, machine learning, and video/image processing & compression. Hence, you will get considerable support from experts in the various fields that are necessary to tackle interdisciplinary research topics surrounding distributed training and inference with deep neural networks.

Requirements

  • Prior software internship and/or machine learning research experience.
  • Candidate should be good in technical problem solving and have excellent programming skills, ideally with prior software internship and/or machine learning research experience.
  • Experience with Python, C/C++, and machine learning frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Studying towards degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Study state-of-the-art techniques for distributed machine learning training and inference, and implicit neural representations of images or videos.
  • Evaluate software and hardware implementation aspects of these techniques and document findings.
  • Identify/propose a set of techniques that are appropriate for AMD’s diverse HW/SW ecosystem.
  • You will be encouraged to publish the non-confidential aspects of novel technique(s) in tier-1 conferences/journals.
