We're looking for PhD candidates to intern on the Threat Detection team during summer 2026 (12 weeks). You will be embedded in our engineering team and work closely with other specialists, software developers, and product managers. As a PhD intern, you will work on an exciting yet bold problem in depth and independently, under the supervision of an experienced engineer on that team. About the Team The Threat Detection team at Uber is responsible for identifying and mitigating malicious activities to safeguard Uber's services, infrastructure, and users, with the help of machine learning, big data technologies. They work closely with other teams within Engineering Security to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of customer information, and ensure a secure computing environment for the Uber community.
