About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician at Tri-City Cardiology Consultants plays a crucial role in assisting patients with medication refills and prescription inquiries. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician certification required.
  • One year of Pharmacy Technician experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process faxed prescription refill requests and collaborate with pharmacies and patients as needed.
  • Follow TCC policy and procedure as well as DEA regulations relative to processing Erx, mail order, and faxed prescriptions.
  • Complete prior authorization processes, including form completion and documentation.
  • Inform medical assistants, physicians, and patients regarding medication information and interactions.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of cardiac medications, formularies, and pharmacy processes.
  • Accurately update and document patient medications and allergies in patient records.
  • Educate patients regarding their medications within the scope of practice.
  • Ensure sample medication closets are inventoried, cleaned, and date labeled appropriately.
  • Act as a liaison between physicians, staff, and pharmaceutical representatives.
