About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician will support and assist Pharmacists with preparing and dispensing prescribed medications and providing patient care and education. This is a full-time position based in Los Angeles, CA (522 S. San Pedro St.) and the hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm (subject to change).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (Associate’s or higher in healthcare is a plus!)
  • Must have an active and good standing Pharmacy Technician License in the State of CA
  • 1+ year of related pharmacy experience preferred (fast learners welcomed!)
  • Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong typing and data entry skills
  • A positive attitude, great phone etiquette, and a patient-first mindset
  • A reliable way to get to the pharmacy and flexibility to travel locally

Nice To Haves

  • National Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB) preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Remove drug(s) from stock; count, pour, or mix pharmaceuticals
  • Place the product into a container
  • Affix the label or labels to the container
  • Package/repackage as needed
  • Type prescription label(s) or enter prescription information into our digital record system with precision
  • Verify/re-verify insurance benefits and resolve issues with empathy and efficiency
  • Interact courteously with patients and team members to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships
  • Answer incoming and make outbound calls to patients, case managers, providers, insurance companies, etc.
  • Clearly write routine reports and correspondence
  • Handle payments and reconcile transactions at the Point of Sale (POS) beginning and end-of-day
  • Coordinate prescription deliveries and ensure timely service
  • Solve problems proactively and contribute to process improvements
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned
