About The Position
Pharmacy Technician Weirton Medical Must have some pharmacy tech experience Flexible positions in the Pharmacy. Work Hours/Shift: All Shifts
Requirements
- Some on-the-job training provided. Previous experience with pharmaceutical products and distribution preferred.
- Experience in computer input with menu driven programs preferred.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent with basic to intermediate computer skills including the ability to learn new systems.
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program, and/or pharmacy technician certification, and/or comparable health care related degree required.
- In addition, 500 hours is required to complete the training and then 3 months to successfully complete a national examination.
- Excellent Typing skills.
- Candidates with CPhT certification will be considered first.
Responsibilities
- Transcribes physician's written orders.
- Delivers requested medications to nursing stations and other hospital departments.
- Replaces floor stock and prepares IV admixtures.
- Maintains pharmacy workroom in clean and orderly condition.
- Charges replacement vouchers and fills medication bags.
