About The Position

Blue Ridge Health is currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician to be part of our Pharmacy Team in Hendersonville, NC. Newly hired Pharmacy Technicians are eligible for a $500.00 sign on bonus after 90 days of employment! No nights or weekends! What You'll Do: The pharmacy technician will assist the pharmacist with all aspects of accurately dispensing medications while providing exceptional customer service to clinic patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligible to register with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy
  • Must be able to read and generate written medical communication and documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, providers, peers, supervisor or other collaborative community agencies.
  • Ability to communicate any real or potential problems to appropriate risk management staff.
  • Builds a positive work environment by working cooperatively within department and with other areas through teamwork, interpersonal skills, and personal improvement/initiative.
  • Strong interest in working with an interdisciplinary healthcare team and culturally diverse patient population

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients in Spanish (preferred, not required).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare medications and supplies for dispensing.
  • Assist with inventory management.
  • Accountable for ensuring all monthly inventory tasks are completed by pharmacy staff, including counts, returns, checking for out of dates, and other duties as assigned.
  • Completes all administrative tasks as assigned, including but not limited to: operating the fax machine, receiving and sending mail, and other forms of correspondence.
