Canyon Vista Medical Center was founded in 1963 as Western Baptist Osteopathic Hospital on what was then the eastern edge of Sierra Vista. Growth and advancing technology dictated building our new 177,000 square foot hospital at 5700 E Hwy 90 completed in 2015. The Pharmacy Technician supports the acute care hospital pharmacy by performing a variety of distributive and technical duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. This role assists with medication preparation and dispensing, refills and maintains automated dispensing systems, and ensures accurate daily medication cart fills. The technician manages pharmacy inventory, including ordering, restocking, returns, and handling shortages, and repackages bulk medications as needed. Responsibilities also include compounding sterile and hazardous products in accordance with established procedures and regulatory standards. The Pharmacy Technician helps maintain a safe and organized work environment, participates in performance improvement activities, and supports the pharmacy team in delivering timely, high‑quality patient care. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician required
  • Registered with the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in hospital pharmacy preferred
