About The Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will assist in medication preparation, inventory management, and ensure accurate and timely distribution of medications while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration (state-specific requirement)
- PTCB certification (or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- Prior inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience
- Experience with automated dispensing systems
Responsibilities
- Review and process medication orders accurately
- Prepare, package, and distribute medications to patient care units
- Maintain inventory, including stocking, monitoring expirations, and processing returns
- Perform billing, documentation, and recordkeeping tasks
- Handle incoming calls and direct clinical inquiries to the pharmacist
- Maintain cleanliness and adhere to infection control and safety policies
- Participate in training, meetings, and quality assurance initiatives
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff
- Prepare sterile and parenteral medications
- Manage controlled substances and automated dispensing systems
- Assist in training and supporting new pharmacy staff
