About The Position

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Pharmacy is seeking Certified and Registered Pharmacy Technicians to join their team. Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center provides a competitive salary, with Registered Technicians starting at $17.00 per hour and Certified Technicians at $22.00 per hour, with potential increases based on prior Pharmacy Technician experience. Requirements

  • Be at least 16 years of age (Registered Technicians)
  • Have a high school or equivalent diploma, or be working to achieve a high school or equivalent diploma (Registered Technicians)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required within 9 months from date of hire (Registered Technicians)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the NH Board of Pharmacy required
  • If not registered at hire, must register with the NH Board of Pharmacy within 15 days of start of employment as a pharmacy technician and post such registration in the pharmacy within 30 days (NH 803.01; 4) (Registered Technicians)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required (Certified Technicians)
  • BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire for Pharmacy Technicians in the Retail or Specialty Pharmacy if required to administer immunizations (Certified Technicians)

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of customer service experience preferred (Outpatient Pharmacy only) (Registered Technicians)
  • Associates degree in a health or related field, (with 1 year of pharmacy experience) or the equivalent in education and experience preferred (Certified Technicians)

Responsibilities

  • Answers Phones
  • Prepares prescription and non-prescription medication and/or devices
  • Stocks and replenishes stock locations and automated dispensing machines (ADMs) and/or robots (example: shelves, carousels, Parata)
  • Communicates supply issues, problems or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel
  • Prepares or compounds non-sterile, non-antineoplastic drug products in accordance with USP chapter <795> under supervision of a licensed Pharmacist (Inpatient Only)
  • Electronically processes prescription orders and prepares prescriptions for verification by a pharmacist (Outpatient Only)
  • Take verbal orders from providers, runs registers, performs production and data entry production (Outpatient Only)
  • Processes third party claims (Outpatient Only)
