You’ll help create a positive and seamless experience for every team member — ensuring they feel valued, supported, and heard Location: Anacortes, WA, Onsite Schedule: Per Diem / Variable hours Salary: $27.50/hr - $40.05/hr For Information on Employee Benefits and SEIU Contract In the Pharmacy Technician role, you will play a key role in the department by assisting in the selection of medications, preparation of parenteral admixtures, compounding, billing and stocking pharmaceuticals under the immediate supervision and control of a licensed Pharmacist. What you will be doing when assigned to the Medication Reconciliation Technician role: Under the direction of a pharmacist, may perform medication reconciliation such as collecting, reconciling, and entering into the electronic health record a patient's medication list prior to admission. Prioritizes workflow, focusing first on patients that will be or have been admitted to the hospital. Interviews patients and/or family members regarding medication and food allergies. Interviews patients and/or family members regarding home medication list and when appropriate contacts sources for home medication list such as pharmacies and/or providers. Documents medications and allergies accurately in the Electronic Medical Record prior to admission for provider reconciliation. Utilizes appropriate medication information resources to identify medications as needed. Utilizes resources within computer system such as previous dispense information and notes to ensure completeness of medication history and verify information. Maintains appropriate queues in the Electronic Medical Record. What you will bring to the role: A minimum of one (1) year of Pharmacy Tech experience required, previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred. Must maintain an active Pharmacy Tech license issued by the WA Department of Health. Demonstrated communication skills consistent with Island Hospital’s mission, vision, values and Promise. Planning, organization and prioritization skills with demonstrated evidence of critical thinking, problem solving and analytical processing ability. Self-motivated, flexible and has the ability work independently and in a team environment, with strong ethical standards. Adaptability and flexibility to facilitate change while meeting multiple demands and priorities of a challenging position and workload. Ability to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with staff at all levels of the organization with a focus on forming partnerships with key stakeholders to achieve an optimal patient care experience and support Island Hospital’s strategic goals. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and build positive relationships with clinicians, leaders, and other stakeholders.
