About The Position

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN– Per Diem (PRN) - JPS Correctional Health Pharmacy We are seeking a compassionate, caring, and customer‑focused Per Diem (PRN) Pharmacy Technician to work weekend night shifts, as needed, in the JPS Correctional Pharmacy in Fort Worth, TX. Prior pharmacy experience is required, along with flexibility to work as needed in a fast‑paced environment. The pharmacy is managed by VytlOne. JPS JPS Health Network is a $950 million, tax-supported health care system for Tarrant County in North Texas. Licensed for 578 beds, the network includes an acute care hospital and more than 40 community-based clinics, including 19 school-based clinics. John Peter Smith Hospital is home to Tarrant County’s first and only Level 1 Trauma Center, its only psychiatric emergency services site and has the largest hospital-based family medicine residency program in the nation. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the Texas Board of Pharmacy
  • Must be PTCB or NHA certified
  • Must pass background check for correctional health facility

Nice To Haves

  • Prior inpatient, correctional, or high-volume pharmacy experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Filling, packaging, and preparing inmate medications
  • Processing requested orders through EMR system
  • Controlled substances handling per regulations
  • Inventory management and unit restocking
  • Assisting with medication pass preparation
  • Troubleshooting medication issues
  • Maintaining compliance with all security and pharmacy standards
  • Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.
  • Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy
