Position: Pharmacy Technician (Level I, II, III) Department: Pharmacy Supervisor: Pharmacy Director IHA #: 1970 Qualifications Qualifications Idaho Pharmacy Technician Licensure (required) PTCB or NHA Certified Technician (preferred) BLS (required - must obtain within 6 months of hire) Pharmacy Technician experience not required Must be employed at least one year to move to Level II Level II Pharmacy Technician Principal Functions/Responsibilities Under the supervision of a Pharmacist: All items listed within Level I Pharmacy Technician Assists in the training of Level I & II Pharmacy Technicians Performs non-hazardous sterile compounding in IV suite Helps maintain non-hazardous compounding suite including cleaning, stocking, outdating, monitoring, surface sampling, recertification, and associated documentation. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Idaho Pharmacy Technician Licensure (required) PTCB or NHA Certified Technician (required) BLS (required - must be obtained within 6 months of hire) Minimum of one year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience (required) One year of non-hazardous sterile compounding experience (preferred) Must meet the qualifications and requirements of a Level I Pharmacy Technician Level III Pharmacy Technician Principal Functions/Responsibilities Under the supervision of a Pharmacist: All items listed within Level I & II Pharmacy Technician Assists in the training of Level I, II, III Pharmacy Technicians Performs hazardous sterile compounding in IV suite Helps maintain hazardous compounding suite including cleaning, stocking, outdating, monitoring, surface sampling, recertification, and associated documentation. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Idaho Pharmacy Technician Licensure (required) PTCB or NHA Certified Technician (required) BLS (required - must be obtained within 6 months of hire) Two years of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience (required) One year of non-hazardous sterile compounding experience (required) – may substitute hazardous sterile compounding experience Must meet the qualifications and requirements of a Level II Pharmacy Technician Working Conditions (Level I, II, & III) General health care environment exposure to patient conditions and office work. May be exposed to bio-hazards/blood borne pathogens/hazardous drugs and other patient elements as found in a hospital/pharmacy environment.
